The African Knockout (AKO) Championship is thrilled to announce AKO5, a spectacular event themed “Road to the Playoffs,” scheduled for August 10, 2024, at the prestigious Abuja Continental Hotel. This electrifying night of mixed martial arts will feature nine thrilling fights: eight men’s bouts and one female bout, showcasing elite fighters vying for their place in the AKO Championship playoffs.

Main Event: Segun Ogunnoiki vs Kouadio Marcel

A high-stakes showdown between Segun and Marcel in the middleweight division promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Both fighters are determined to secure their spot in the playoffs, making this a must-watch bout.

 

Co-Main Event: Jackiel Ayana vs Andre Mukisi

Jackiel Ayana faces off against Andre Mukisi in a clash that guarantees non-stop action and exceptional skills. With one spot left to grab in the featherweight division, this is a must-win for both fighters as the loser faces elimination from the championship.

Melvin Ugochukwu vs. Tafa: With his third successive return to the AKO Cage this year, Melvin Ugochukwu chases a playoff spot, and standing in his way is Tafa. Expect fireworks as these two powerhouses collide.
